THE RAPE OF A JEWISH FAMILY

I hesitated to use the word "rape", but it is the most accurate word I could think of to describe how Dawn McSweeney and her self-proclaimed "partners in crime" stripped my entire family bare of everything we possessed, all my life's most precious belongings, the children's and grandchildren's designated inheritance  - and even of each other.

It wasn't accomplished in one fell swoop. My then teenage niece, Dawn McSweeney, worked her schemes on my aged mother over a period of time.

Dawn hated me from the time she was a child because I questioned her behaviour back then - her vulgarity toward her parents, her violence, her arrogance. The first time I was exposed to it was after my darling husband died in 1992. It was then that I started spending nights at my sister Debbie's house. I was grieving for my husband and alone and Debbie and her husband Ed did not sleep at night. So we spent the nights talking. And Dawn, a young girl at the time, and her baby sister - whom I shall not name, did not sleep either.

So it was then that I was witness to Dawn's behaviour, and it was then that I protested, and it was then that Debbie and Ed told me to mind my own business. and it was then that Dawn first let it be known how much she hated me.

I had almost nothing to do with Dawn for years. I might have seen her in passing. In the summer of 1996, Dawn demonstrated her hatred for me again when friends who had helped me when I first fell ill in 1993 came to the house for a short visit.

It was that summer when my mother's attitude toward me became strange. She would sit in her big armchair glaring at me, not saying anything, but glaring at me. I didn't know why, but it hurt. I could not have foreseen that this was a harbinger of a nightmare that would befall our family in a few short months.

I was aware that summer, that Dawn McSweeney was stirring up some kind of trouble. Since my friends stopped by that summer, there was reason to believe Dawn was up to something. But what? I had no idea. But it was then that Dawn told my mother, in my presence that my friends who professed to love me, really hated me.

Dawn had invited the two teenagers outside - ostensibly for teen talk - while the adults sat in the living room chatting. When the family left, Dawn told my mother that the kids couldn't stand me. In fact, she said, they "despised" me. They only pretended to love me, "for fun".

Incidentally, we are still friends all these years later. The son, Robbie just got married in August, 2010.

It was after that visit that my mother's attitude toward me changed. My mother had pleaded me to "come home" two years earlier when she learned I was sick. After Dawn's intervention that summer, it was made clear that I was no longer wanted.

At the beginning of October, 1996, when Dawn and Alex suddenly moved in and took over, I felt the sky falling down on me.

I don't think Dawn could have foreseen how her plan to rob me and displace me would evolve into the full-scale destruction of the entire family. She set out to force me out of my parents' home and assume my position in the family. I was very close to my father all my life. The first born.

Based on her history, I had no doubt that Dawn coveted and that she would pilfer and I begged my mother to keep her out of my rooms.. But my mother turned on me saying, "Dawn doesn't need your jewellery. She has her own jewellery. She has better jewellery than you."

On October 5, 1996, I did a new, detailed  inventory of all my belongings, anticipating that Dawn would steal. What I could not have foreseen in any rational expectation was that a Montreal Police officer would turn over all my life's belongings to her. She could not have foreseen that either. What a coup !

Christ was the key Dawn McSweeney used to open the door to 4995 Prince of Wales and make herself at home. Knowing how hurt my mother was by my decision to be baptized, Dawn used my mother's fear to ingratiate herself and make herself and her boyfriend, Alex Lavergne, the heroes coming to my mother's rescue from the enemy within the house - the betrayer of the faith and the family.

What I did not know at the time and did not find out until about four years later was that money had been stolen from my mother sometime before Dawn and Alex actually moved in at the beginning of October. Dawn and Debbie always had complete access in the house. No one else ever did, not since we were teenagers.

I had access around the house while I lived there from early in 1994 until I was attacked on October 7, 1996.  But my mother had a locked closet. I never gave much thought to what might be there. Perhaps precious old family photographs, memorabilia, now that I think about it.

Our family home was full of memories for me. I had lived there from the time I was to turn sixteen until I my first marriage. My mother never threw anything out, so many of our childhood things were still about. My sleigh still hung in the garage and there were photographs of the family from the time I was about three years old on the living room wall. I confess that one evening, I was overcome by nostalgia and I peeked into one of the bureau drawers in my bedroom. It was full of precious old 45 rpm records. I didn't touch  them. I closed the drawer and I vowed I would never snoop again.

For the two years I lived with my parents, I didn't go anywhere. I was sick, under treatment for cancer. I never went out of the house except to church - and to the hospital - My father did the shopping. I didn't even know the price of a loaf of bread at the time. I was so out of touch. I didn't have any money and I didn't spend any money. My only income was my welfare check. I offered my father money to help defray the cost of my food, but he twice refused me saying that it would confuse his income taxes. I felt he was just being the loving father I had always known.

So I was shocked and deeply hurt when my father suddenly told me one day that it was time for me to leave. This was after my friends from Ontario had visited in the summer of 1996.

I started looking for a place of my own,. I would go out almost every day and look at apartments, but being ill and having so little money, I could not find a place where I could tolerate the dirt and the smell. If I had stolen money, I could have found a reasonable apartment.

I was targeted for a crime I did not even know had happened. Was I ever out of the loop ! I didn't have a clue about what was going on except I knew in my bones that Dawn was out to do me harm.

Why would my mother think I was the one who had robbed her?  She had always professed and demonstrated her love for me. She wrote me love notes, bought me gifts. There could only be one reason.  In the years after the robbery, the pieces started falling into place. My mother was persuaded that I was the one who took her money.

How could I have defended myself when I didn't know that money had been stolen or even that there was money hidden in the house ? The subject was never mentioned to me until the moment my mother attacked me on October 7, 1996. And when that happened, I was in a state of total shock. Shaking and breathless shock. I didn't realize what my mother was yelling about. I thought she had lost her mind. And the police whisked me away before I could recover my equilibrium.

Perhaps that was what had prompted the comments months earlier when my mother had mentioned in the course of some ordinary conversation that, if I ever won the lottery, I would give all the money to my church.

In retrospect, I can see where she thought I would have spent her stolen money. I can't imagine anyone giving stolen money to a church. But my mother saw evil in me and in the church. And she feared it.

When I was attacked, I managed to call 911. The police I called to save me - helped the thief instead. The officer "helped" me out into the street - physically - and warned me in front of my assailant that I must never return to the house for any reason.

I appealed to the police again and again to go to the house and see that all my belongings were there, clearly marked with my name and inventory numbers. There was as detailed  inventory, insurance papers, appraisals, photographs, receipts.

But the police told me that my mother promised everything would be returned to me if I would just be patient. And Debbie told me that she would return all my things, but if I tried to get them any other way, I would be guilty of killing my parents.

In March, 1997, Dawn McSweeney returned everything she didn't want. She kept all the personal treasures of my life. Everything I had worked for all my life, everything my darling husband left me, every gift I had received, even my most sentimental things - my wedding portrait, my husband's trademark grey fedora, his rings, his badge.

It was then, in March, 1997, that the Montreal Police told me they would open a file. There was then what appeared to be a serious investigation and I felt that, at last, I would get back my precious belongings. But after taking away a box and a suitcase that Dawn had returned - empty - except for all the empty little velvet and cardboard  jewellery boxes - the detectives told me there were "no fingerprints". They did not say that there were smeared prints, unrecognizable prints. They stressed that there were "no fingerprints". Impossible  - since Dawn and Debbie and the friends who picked up the boxes and cases and I had all handled them. "Case closed."

As a result of the failure of the Montreal Police to launch a serious investigation from day one, in 2005, the "partners in crime" made a will in the name of my 92 year old mother who had been handicapped mentally and physically for decades. When she died in 2007, everything my father had laboured for all his life went to Debbie McSweeney, Dawn McSweeney, and a stranger named Kenneth Gregoire Prud'homme.

Debbie and Dawn and their partners had kept my mother in total isolation from everyone in the family for almost a decade. But the Montreal Police refused to investigate. When my mother died, the thieves completed the job, The partners in crime stripped the entire family bare.

My father had denied himself everything. He didn't buy new clothes. I'm sure he wore the same shoes for decades. He didn't go to the movies since I was a child. He didn't go to restaurants. He didn't gamble or drink. He didn't even smoke cigarettes anymore. My parents didn't go on vacation since the 1950's. Whatever my father earned he saved. And he maintained the family home And Dawn McSweeney and her partners in crime stole all of it.

And still the Montreal Police refuse to take any action against these criminals.

Because of my mother's fear and despair over my Christianity, the fruits of the lives of a dysfunctional but loving Jewish family were wiped out by the machinations of a malicious teenager - aided and abetted by the Montreal Police, and supported by the negligence and irresponsibility - and corruption? of members of the Montreal, Quebec and Canadian governments, who choose to look the other way. These crimes are not in anyone's jurisdiction and no one is responsible and no one has done anything wrong.

Like the Nazis, Dawn and her partners in crime stole the life's treasures of the whole family and tore us apart. The robbery shattered our family. I am the only one willing to speak out openly about what took place. My brother Stephen and my sister Sheila - who were among all the children and grandchildren removed as my father's chosen heirs - have no stomach for this battle for justice. I am not even supposed to mention their names. They are angry with me for speaking about these crimes publicly, even though they have lost their inheritances and their children's inheritances to these thieves.

I stand alone. A Jewish-Christian determined to do what is right.

EVIDENCE THAT DEMANDS A VERDICT

Among the precious things that Dawn McSweeney stole from me on October 7, 1996 - my wedding portrait, all my best jewellery, my darling husband's rings, his trade-mark grey fedora, and his badge - there was a box of my best books - beautiful, mint condition illuminated books, and Christian books, including Josh McDowell's Evidence That Demands a Verdict.

If Dawn had read that book, she might have repented, saved her own soul, saved our parents heart-wrenching grief - and she would have returned everything she stole. I guess Dawn never has read the book, because she has not yet confessed her crimes to the police or returned our belongings. Not yet.

HATE MESSAGES FROM THE PARTNERS IN CRIME

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<
Immediately following the death of my mother, I found hate messages on my blog page for the first time.

Here are just a few of the messages sent to me by the "partners in crime". I learned months later that this is the work of Alex Lavergne, Dawn McSweeney's boyfriend at the time of the robbery. He uses the name The Ink.

I don't know how they post messages using my name on my own blog. They published my phone number (deleted here) and threatened to publish my address if I did not stop reporting the crimes. Alex suggests I stand on the railroad track and gloats over the report that I have cancer.  See below.

Phyllis Carter Hates God
It has come to my attention that one Phyllis Carter of Montreal hates God and all that the bible stands for.
She worships Satan by dancing around her cauldron of hate on all the Sacred days.
I heard she ate bats wings for Christmas and laughed.
She has been seen dancing naked on her own mothers grave while taking any number of foul drugs.
How could this be?... She's sick, sick, sick! That's how!
Please be aware of the dangers from this evil woman, she may try to steal your babies and convert them to Satan!
In conclusion,
Phyllis Carter BAD

Of course you could always write to me at my home address but then you would all know where I live.
I suppose I should just take down this silly site and move on with my life.
If I don't take down the site I will surely put my address up here with instructions on how to find me... Maybe some nice pictures too.
Have a terrible day all.

REWARD - ROBBERY - PRINCE OF WALES, MONTREAL

Most thieves want material items - money, jewellery. Dawn McSweeney wanted all that, but in this case, the thief also deliberately tore apart my family....

I'll make this simple for you. I never stole anything from you. Dawn never stole anything from you, and neither of us have anything to do with your younest sister and her boyfriend. Any hatred regarding your parents estate should be directed at Debbie. Take your meds and start seeing reality. If you can't, then I just want you to know that you wont get hurt if you try standing in front of a Train on the tracks by your place. So go on, try it.

THE STRANGE BRAIN OF GURU MCSWEENEY

*********************************

What goes on in the mind of a thief? For more than thirteen years- since I was attacked and robbed in my home - with the help of a Montreal Police officer - I have been focused on recovering everything Dawn McSweeney and her self-proclaimed "partners in crime" stole from me and from my family.

In my report entitled " THE TRAGEDY OF DAWN MCSWEENEY - HOW TO RAISE A CRIMINAL - I describe in detail how Dawn was raised and how she behaved - her greed, her hatred, her jealousy and her malice. But I have not, until now, given any real thought to how she thinks.

How does a child become a thief who, without batting an eyelash, lies to her grandparents, steals their money and then robs her aunt - me - and then goes on to become a yoga guru, training strangers the ways of peace and contentment ? Does she have two separate brains that allow her to compartmentalize the thief in one part of her head while another part writes poetry praising her beloved grandmother ? I cannot fathom it.

My sister, Sheila, who tried time and again to help Dawn and Dawn's mother, our youngest sister, Debbie, can attest to Dawn's sneaky efforts to get money from her, but she wants to remain anonymous and will not allow me to even mention her name. The truth telling falls to me alone - until we finally get this case into criminal court. Then everyone will have to speak.

My mother based the last decade of her own life on the trust that Dawn McSweeney was a good Jewish child. (I being the betrayer of the faith.) She believed that Dawn was telling the truth and that she was devoted to her.

She did not believe that it was Dawn who had stolen her money. Years after that nightmare event, I learned that my mother had attacked me because she believed that I was the one who stole money she had hidden somewhere in the house.

Why believe that your first born child that you have always loved has become a thief and stolen your money?

Some time before my mother attacked me on October 7, 1996, in a casual conversation, my mother had commented that I was so enchanted by the Anglican Church that if I ever won the lottery, I would give the church all my money. She was deeply hurt by my conversion and she was constantly baiting me, asking me questions like, If Jesus was God, why did he say, "Why hast thou forsaken me?" to God when he was being crucified?

So we were having these heavy discussions all the time during those last months before my mother attacked me. Just heavy discussions. There were no arguments. I did not think these religious debates were about anything other than religion.

My mother would even listen in on my hour-long telephone conversations with a Christian friend. We could hear her heavy breathing on the line, but we said nothing. I just thought she was lonely and interested in our discussion. But there was something far worse going on. I just didn't know it.

Years later, in retrospect. I think my mother was listening to hear me say that I had taken her money. But, at the time, I didn't know there was money missing. I only learned about it by accident about four years after the fact.

Still, it was during the summer of 1996, that my mother's attitude toward me became strange.

Since friends of mine from out of town had paid a very brief visit that summer, there was reason to believe Dawn was up to something.

The son, Robbie just got married this week.

It was after that visit that my mother's attitude toward me changed. My mother had pleaded me to "come home" two years earlier when she learned I was sick. After Dawn's intervention that summer, I no longer felt wanted. I started looking for a place of my own.

Unlike Dawn McSweeney, I have not been given the gift of a brain that can separate one part of me from another. I am completely aware of everything all the time. I am haunted by my imperfection, the way disease and age have ravaged my body, by the mistakes of my youth, my failure to be kind enough to others. My nights are filled with longing for those I have loved and lost. And, day and night, I think about the horrible damage Dawn McSweeney did to my parents and the rest of our family by her lies and her greed.

I have to fight the tears when I think of the years my mother and father lost with all their children and grandchildren because Dawn tore our family apart. She stole everything of value that we had and she turned us against each other. My parents went to their graves without knowing the truth. Those injuries can never be healed. How tragic and ironic that the only person my mother trusted was the thief who would destroy us.

When Dawn was young, she was afraid to go into the basement of her home in Pierrefonds because she said she heard ghosts there. Is she still haunted?

I have never had the gift of seeing or hearing the departed, but I wonder if my mother knows now what Dawn did to us and whether she visits Dawn at night. If the departed know the truth and they do visit, I pray my mother will finally persuade Dawn to return everything she stole and confess. Then, and only then will I stop telling the world about the crimes of Dawn McSweeney.

AN EYE FOR AN EYE ? DAWN AND ALEX HAVE NO FEAR OF THE POLICE

********************************

In western society, criminals get away with all sorts of crimes. A proverbial "slap on the wrist" is the usual legal response to even the most heinous crimes.

Criminals laugh at the police and mock their victims openly. In my case, one of Dawn McSweeney's "partners in crime", Alex Lavergne, aka "The Ink". has had no hesitation about posting hate messages on my blogs, confident that the Montreal Police will do absolutely nothing about it. This is clearly based on the fact that the Montreal Police have repeatedly refused to take any action against Dawn McSweeney and the "partners in crime" in spite of the substantial, material evidence that I have presented to them.

On the other hand, Sharia law in the middle east has often demonstrated a cruel and brutal response to crimes, even those that western society might regard as trivial.

Canadians really have to get serious about changing our own laws to ensure that the punishment fits the crime without lowering society to a physical "eye for an eye".

My family has suffered day and night for more than thirteen years as a direct result of the crimes of Dawn McSweeney and her self-proclaimed "partners in crime." - and the complicity of the Montreal Police.

True justice requires that Dawn McSweeney receive a jail sentence that is appropriate for the terrible damage she has done to our family.

As a direct result of the robbery, our family was torn apart and the crime sent my parents to their graves after they were separated from their children and grandchildren for years by what Dawn McSweeney did. The suffering of the victims must be a major factor in deciding the sentencing of a criminal.

But under Canadian law today, Dawn McSweeney can continue to enjoy all the benefits of everything she stole. Today, she is writing poetry, practicing as a "yoga guru" in Montreal and she is about to embark on the study of Sanskrit. She can walk freely among civilized people without fear of the Montreal Police. They have been her accomplices from the moment I was attacked and I called 911 for help.

The Montreal Police I called to rescue me - helped the thief instead. And since then, the Montreal Police have continued to cover-up these crimes.

The governments of Montreal, Quebec and Canada refuse to do anything for Dawn McSweeney's victims who continue to suffer as a direct result of her malicious crimes.

Saudi Arabia urged not to paralyze man as retribution punishment

By the CNN Wire Staff
August 21, 2010 4:18 a.m. EDT

(CNN) -- Amnesty International on Friday urged Saudi Arabian authorities not to paralyze a man as punishment for his having paralyzed someone else, allegedly during a fight.

The Saudi newspaper Okaz reported that the judge in the case had sent letters to several hospitals in Saudi Arabia asking if they could sever a man's spinal cord, as the man he allegedly stabbed had requested and, under sharia law, was his right to seek.

But such a punishment would amount "to nothing less than torture," said Hassiba Hadj Sahraoui, acting director of the organization's Middle East and North Africa Programme. "While those guilty of a crime should be held accountable, intentionally paralyzing a man in this way would constitute torture, and be a breach of its international human rights obligations."

The paralyzed man, 22-year-old Abdul-Aziz al-Mitairy, told Okaz that the accused stabbed him in the back with a large knife during a fight more than two years ago. "The accused confessed to the crime in front of police, resulting in a general sentence of seven months," he told the newspaper.

During that time, the court in the northwest province of Tabuk debated how to carry out the surgery the paralyzed man was seeking as punishment for his alleged attacker, news reports said.

Riyadh's King Faisal Specialist Hospital, one of the kingdom's leading hospitals, responded that, from a medical perspective, it would not be possible for them to cause the injury by performing such surgery, Okaz reported.

But apparently at least one hospital said it would be possible. "According to one report, one hospital said it would be possible to medically administer the injury at the same place on the spinal cord as the damage the man is alleged to have caused his victim using a cleaver, during a fight more than two years ago, causing similar paralysis," Amnesty said in a news release.

It is up to the court to decide whether to impose the paralysis punishment or sentence the man to imprisonment, financial compensation, or flogging, it said.

The alleged attacker, who has not been identified publicly, "was convicted and sentenced following a trial where he was said to have had no legal assistance," Amnesty added.

International human rights law would consider such a sentence to be a violation of the prohibition of torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment and to break the U.N. Convention Against Torture to which Saudi Arabia is a party, Amnesty said. It would also violate the principles of medical ethics adopted by the U.N. General Assembly, it said.

Other sentences of retribution in the kingdom have included eye-gouging, tooth extraction, and death in cases involving murder, it said.

International organizations are not the only ones to protest. Outrage has been expressed by bloggers in Saudi Arabia over the sentence, which underscores the societal struggle in Saudi Arabia between hardliners, who hew to tribal justice, and progressives, who consider such verdicts to be draconian and bad for the country's international image.

The fact that newspapers and bloggers are questioning decisions by courts -- institutions traditionally considered above reproach -- is a relatively recent phenomenon in Saudi Arabia, where other such sentences have captured international attention.

"This case in Saudi Arabia is not the only case of its kind," said Akbar Ahmed, a former commissioner of justice in Pakistan who is chairman of the department of Islamic Studies at American University in Washington. "We see many cases like this -- stoning or beheading or cutting off hands or feet in Iran, Afghanistan and parts of Pakistan, which are very tribal."

Under Islamic law, compassion is an important virtue for any judge, Ahmed said. "However harsh the punishment would be in tribal law, an eye for an eye, the compassion element that must be exercised by the judge overrides it, and I'm afraid we don't see much of that in cases like this where, very often, the victim becomes twice punished," he added.

THIEF MCSWEENEY WANTS TO LEARN SANSKRIT

*********************************
Thieves live well in Montreal - because the Montreal Police do nothing to stop them. But Dawn McSweeney's victims continue to fight for justice. There is nowhere that she and her self-proclaimed "partners in crime" can hide from the truth.

Dawn McSweeney - Hi! I'm trying to learn Sanskrit, and I'm so glad to find this page! I want to be sure I am writing Ushas correctly...Please & thank you! :)

DAWN MCSWEENEY - GURU AND THIEF

***********************************

Harmony Poirier

Dawn McSweeney a.k.a. The Desk Guru

Dawn's parents taught her mantra at a young age. In her early teens, the discovery of a book on yogic philosophy challenged and changed both her perspective on life and her path. She began practicing asana in her early twenties, and was self-taught until she came to HappyTree. A poet, bhakti and reiki practitioner, Dawn believes that with the right intention, everything can be a practice: happiness is her favourite.

*********************

On October 7, 1996, at 4995 Prince of Wales, NDG, Montreal, Quebec, Dawn McSweeney robbed me of everything I had worked for all my life and every precious thing left to me by my beloved husband.

I reported the robbery as it was happening when I called 911. The police I called to rescue me turned over everything I owned to my assailant.

From that moment on, Dawn McSweeney and her self-proclaimed "partners in crime" had complete control of everything I owned and the lives of my aged parents and all their property as well.

They took that property when my mother died in June, 2007, after making a new will in her name in 2005 when she was 92 years old. My mother had been kept in total isolation by them for almost a decade - completely cut off from all her children and grandchildren - except for Dawn McSweeney and her "partners in crime."

Montreal Police detectives told me that Dawn McSweeney and her boyfriend Alex Lavergne refused to take a polygraph test.

Were the Montreal Police detectives lying?

I told the Montreal Police from day one that I was ready to take a polygraph test at any time. The police refused me saying they believe me. I am still ready to take a polygraph test.

I provided the Montreal Police with documents, insurance papers, insurance photographs, sales receipts, and detailed descriptions of everything Dawn stole.

But the Montreal Police refuse to take any action against the thief and her associates. Why ? Can it be because the police I called to rescue me, helped the thief instead ?

There are many factors that go into making someone cruel and greedy. Sometimes it is real mental illness - a brain problem. More often, I think, it is early experiences - either cruelty or neglect or mothers making excuses for little bullies from the first time they hit.

But there are signs, early signs, almost always. We just let it go and look the other way. That's why the monsters grow crooked and sly and keep getting away with the most horrible crimes.

In my own case, the villain was my teenage niece, Dawn McSweeney, whose mother, my beloved baby sister, Debbie, was too, too kind to a child going wrong.
